The freelancer won’t complete the work automatically. Luckily, the game reminds you when there’s work available.
Players need to actively select odd jobs and complete them for the freelancer Sim. Once you select a niche, you can only take gigs in that industry. Work as a writer, programmer, or artist and bring in the Simoleons for your household. A freelance career allows Sims to work from home in three different fields. It combines elements of the active careers (no rabbit holes), isn’t a full on active career where Sims are forced to attend work at a specific destination, and adds elements of the Acting Career from Get Famous that allows Sims to pick gigs. The Sims 4's new Freelancer Career allows you to pursue financial freedom without the constraints of a schedule. This mod is a temporary fix for that bug. After the Septempatch (1.66.139), a bug was introduced making the freelancer career unplayable: completing all steps in a gig would result in no pay and the gig not ending unless it was manually cancelled. I’ve been doing TS4 QA LiveOps since pre-Base Game, and I can honestly say this upcoming patch is our biggest bug-fixing-patch in recent memory.
This patch will include fixes to “top issues”, a new scroll artwork feature, a plain white shelf swatch, and a new career. During today’s Maxis Monthly live stream, SimGurus announced that The Sims 4 will get a game patch on Tuesday, April 16th, 2019.
